The Global T20 League Canada is a premier cricket tournament showcasing the finest talent worldwide. Starting in 2018, this league has rapidly gained prominence, captivating cricket fans worldwide. The 2023 season will return after a lot of waiting and promises to be an exciting event, with several teams securing contracts with the top players.

GT20 2023 Teams
This year’s Global T20 Canada will feature 6 teams across various cities in Canada. These teams are:
- Brampton Wolves
- Montreal Tigers
- Mississauga Panthers
- Surrey Jaguars
- Toronto Nationals
- Vancouver Knights
Surrey Jaguars are a new addition to the Gt20 2023 and will be playing against the teams from the previous editions. Cricket Westindies, Winnipeg Hawks and Edmonton Royals will not be participating in this season as those franchises have been closed.
Brampton Wolves
With the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Rizwan Cheema, Tim Southee, and Colin De Grandhomme, Brampton Wolves have got a blend of new talent and veteran cricketers. Shane Bond will be coaching them this season. Brampton Wolves topped the table after making their debut in the 2019 season, winning 4 out of their 6 matches with one match ending with no result.
Montreal Tigers
Montreal Tigers will play their 3rd season of GT20 Canada this year. They didn’t have a good outing in the previous two tournaments as they finished second last on the points table in 2018 and 2019. The prominent players playing for Montreal Tigers in 2023 include Andre Russel, Abbas Afridi, Muhammad Waseem, and Chris Lynn. They’ll be coached by former Pakistani mentor Dav Whatmore.
Mississauga Panthers
Another team will make its debut in the 3rd season of Global T20 Canada. The Mississauga team will be consisting of Pakistan cricket team stars Shoaib Malik, Azam Khan, and Shahnawaz Dahani. Besides that Chris Gayle and James Neesham will add experience to the team as well. Lance Klusener, the star who could not win it for South Africa in the 1999 World Cup semi-final, will coach the Panthers.
Surrey Jaguars
Making their debut in GT20 2023, Surrey Jaguars were quick to secure contracts with the T20 cricket stars, Alex Hales and Iftikhar Ahmed. Two other Asian openers, Muhammad Haris and Litton Das will also feature in the Jaguars team. Former Zimbabwe coach, Lalchand Rajput will mentor the Surrey team.
Toronto Nationals
Having finished at the bottom in 2018 and in 3rd position in the GT20 2019, Toronto nationals will be looking for a better performance this year. The Pakistan Cricket Super Star, Shahid Afridi will be playing in Toronto Nationals alongside Saim Ayub, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Colin Munro. The Lahore Qalandars coaching department headed by Aaqib Javed will mentor this team.
Vancouver Knights
Vancouver Knights had exceptional performance in the first two seasons of the Global T20 League Canada. They topped the table in the Inaugural edition followed by a 2nd position in the Gt20 2019. Muhammad Rizwan, Van Der Dussen, Hendricks, and Najibullah Zadran will provide strength to the Knights who are being mentored by Donovan Miller.
GT20 Canada 2023 Broadcasters
The official broadcasters for the 3rd season of GT20 Canada are yet to be announced. Most likely Fancode will secure the rights to broadcast this tournament in India.
